“Vesper” is the first full-length from Lasiurus Cinereus, a dark dungeon incantation from the mind of Morke’s Eric Wing. Written and recorded in 2025 on an old Casio keyboard, “Vesper” pays homage to the hoary bat through six melancholic hymns; cavernous longing and mesmerizing melodies reverberate off glistening stalactites and take flight into the night sky. Wing explains, “The goal of the album and Lasiurus Cinereus as a project is to pay homage to my favorite species of my favorite animal, though not solely out of my love for it. Lasiurus is also a vehicle for me to convey my sympathy and relation to how grossly misunderstood bats are, as growing up I always felt incredibly misunderstood myself - and to some degree still do to this day.”
