The great magician, Gammel Dore, had long sought to improve the standing of magic users, and petitioned the king to safeguard those who were persecuted and lost their lives in vain, as well as those who possessed such talents. Ironically, due to the efforts of his former fellow apprentice, the Archmage Calvaros, Gammel's wish was granted, and Gammel himself opened the academy. However, Gammel has one problem. He could not find the Philosopher's Stone, the magical stone of wish fulfilment that had once been in Calvaros's possession. Gammel feared that if it fell into wicked hands again, it could lead to the return of Archmage. Since the king had given strict orders to search for the stone, Gammel established the academy for protection and education of magicians within the Silver Star Tower - the former residence of the Archmage, where the stone was believed to be hidden. This is how the Magic Academy came to be. The whereabouts of the stone, however, remain unknown.

The magicians of this world use Runes inscribed in Grimoires to access a variety of powers. The three magicians who created the Philosopher' Stone (one of whom betrayed the kingdom by plotting to monopolize the stone) are widely known. Although the status of magicians has been rising in the kingdom in recent years, they are still feared and ostracized. In some regions, the oppression of witches still remain strong.

An academy that only admits those boys and girls who have been recognized for their outstanding magical aptitude. Once the residence of the evil Archmage, the castle is still equipped with magical traps to repel intruders, which are rumored to have claimed the lives of many curious youths. The outer wall of the colossal tower is mainly made of white limestone. The interior is divided into 11 levels, thought the upper levels are somehow older than the lower ones - a curious feature.

It was Lillet herself, having used the Philosopher's Stone to avert a terrible calamity, who was trapped in a prison of time that repeated itself. Through unimaginable repetition of time, Lillet gradually developed her magical abilities and eventually attained the power to destroy the Philosopher's Stone. With extraordinary powers beyond the realm of the average person, Lillet went on to become the subject of numerous heroic tales all throughout the world.

If the reality where time was rewound is itself rewound, then the reversal of time would never have occurred. Thus, the cause of the repeating fragments of time must continue to exist. This is why Lillet, as the root cause, continues to be chained to the Philosopher's Stone. Even if she replaced, so long as Lillet remains at the center of the recurring loop, the phenomenon will continue to be maintained.

How did Lillet, who came to the Silver Star Tower for the first time, reach to the Philosopher's Stone on the fifth day of the disaster? Actually, she had the help of a certain someone... But that is another story for another day.
