Учим английский по Genshin Impact ч.2 Furina - Animula Choragi Chapter: Act I
Наконец вышло новое задание легенд, в котором мы можем ближе познакомиться с Фуриной! Как и в прошлом посте, я собрала занимательную лексику, с которой можно встретиться во время прохождения квеста. Пост не содержит спойлеров, можешь ещё до прохождения проверить свои знания!

Я думала разделить слова на группы: nouns, adjectives, verbs. Но они могут трансформироваться между собой, так что пусть будут в формах из квеста для простоты восприятия.
Слова
- lucrative - job/activity that helps earn or produce a lot of money
- avid - extremely eager or interested:
- doozy - something special or unusual(negative)
- star(verb) - в значении квеста = perform, to be one of the most important performers in a show
- crude - simple and not skilfully done or made
- courtesy - polite behaviour, or a polite action or remark
- earshot - the range of distance within which it is possible to be heard
- denigrate - to say that someone or something is not good or important
- abode - the place where someone lives, =home
- be inclined to - to have an opinion about something, but not a strong opinion
- ogle - to glance with sexual interest or challenge(все же там было про второе ахаха)
- indelible - is impossible to remove by washing or in any other way (Пример: indelible mark)
- one-off - limited to a single time, occasion, or instance
- grovel - to behave with too much respect towards someone to show that you are very eager to please them. Не люблю русский перевод, но определение немного встратое. = пресмыкаться
- livid - extremely angry
- scold - to criticize angrily someone who has done something wrong
- commemorate - recall and show respect for а также to serve as a memorial = отдать дань/почтить память/служить напоминанием
- teensy - very small
- knack - (не игра, нет) an ability or special method for doing something easily and well
- sheepish - embarrassed because you know that you have done something wrong or silly
- solace - something that comfort you when you are feeling sad or worried
- rally - a public meeting of a large group of people, especially supporters of a particular opinion (чекайте ниже фразовый глагол, это разрыв всего)
- vitriol - bitterly harsh or caustic language or criticism
- anguish - extreme pain, distress, or anxiety
- solemn - serious and without any humour
- wrangle - an argument, especially one that continues for a long time
- arbitrary - based on chance rather than being planned or based on reason
- smug - highly self-satisfied
- dire - very serious or extreme
- reprimand - to express to someone your strong official disapproval of them
- berate - to criticize or speak in an angry manner to someone
- gall - rudeness and the quality of being unable to understand that your behaviour or what you say is not acceptable to other people (наглось по сути) = brazen boldness + brash self-confidence
- stern - severe, or showing disapproval
- fray - If your temper frays or your nerves fray, you gradually become upset or annoyed (значений куча, приложила квестовое)
- tattered - badly torn
- convey - to bear from one place to another something, or some information
- mesmerizing - very attractive, in a mysterious way, making you want to keep looking
- procure - to get something, especially after an effort = надыбать...достать...хм
- rekindle - to make someone have a feeling that they had in the past
- enthrall - to keep someone completely interested
- venue - the place where a public event or meeting happens
- infatuation with - strong but not usually lasting feelings of love or attraction
Идиомы
- in a bit of a bind - be caught in a corner / to have a problem but have little way to maneuver
- be (all) the rage - to be very popular at a particular time
- cast pearls before swine - offer valuable things to people who do not appreciate them = метать бисер перед свиньями
- on the mend - becoming healthy after an illness
- lay someone low - to cause someone to be unable to do what they usually do (вообще дичь, я не запомню такое никогда, как это использовать)
- a damsel in distress - a young woman who is in trouble and needs a man's help
- hang by/from a thread - a serious situation, it means that even a slight change can decide what will happen and that a bad result such as death, failure ect.
- can of worms - a situation that causes a lot of problems for you when you start to deal with it
Устойчивые выражения
И немного фразовых глаголов...
- to put it simply - база, но постоянно забываю использовать, а юзаю слова паразиты, на карандаш
- run into issues/problem - понравилась форма, звучит интереснее чем "заиметь проблемы"
- chip away at something - gradually make something smaller or weaker
- rally around (someone) - to join together to support (someone or something) in a difficult time or situation
- tough something out - to deal with a difficult period or situation without becoming any less certain or determined in your plans or opinions
- confide in - to share your feelings and secrets with someone because you trust them, and you sure that they won't spill the beans.. А А как??? интернировала
- fizzle out - to gradually end, often in a disappointing or weak way = сдуться (сдуться с работы, отношения сдулись и ТД)
- second-hand embarrassment - кринжевать с поведения другого человека
- lay off - to stop using or dealing with something, or to stop criticizing someone (вообще значений куча и зависят от контекста, вот ссылка на словарь, приложила контекст квеста)
Это было очень интересно! В этом квесте действительно мноОоОго занимательной лексики..может слишком...
