Born from the ashes of a long and painful process of introspection, Cathexis embodies the existential journey through the states of the soul when the mind becomes a battleground for oneself.

Musically, this album represents a natural evolution for the project, retaining the raw emotion and dynamism from before, but incorporating many of Salum's musical influences, from chamber music to 70’s prog-rock.

Featuring the extremely prolific lineup of talented musicians including Richard Schill (Dead by April, The Unguided, ex-Shining), Daniel Droste (Ahab) and Adrián Terrazas-González – woodwinds (ex-The Mars Volta), the playing in Cathexis combines the elegance and subtlety of Camel, the dynamism and versatility of Opeth and the delicate art of chamber music instrumentation.
